Export steps

  3. The Export Assistant will open. Click Next.
  4. Select GEDCOM as the export format. Click Next.
  5. Configure options:
    • Character encoding — choose UTF-8 (recommended)
    • Filter — export all people or a specific subset
    • Privacy — optionally restrict living people's data
  6. Choose the file name and location. Click Next, then Apply.

Gramps Web users

If you use Gramps Web (the self-hosted web version), you can also export GEDCOM files directly from the web interface under Settings → Export.

🌳 Share your Gramps tree with family

Gramps is great for research, but sharing with non-technical family members is hard. Upload your GEDCOM to PublishMyTree and get a beautiful website anyone can explore.
