How to Export a GEDCOM File from RootsMagic
RootsMagic is one of the most powerful desktop genealogy programs. Here's how to export your tree as a GEDCOM file.
Export steps
- Open your tree in RootsMagic.
- Go to File → Export.
- Select GEDCOM as the export format.
- Choose your options:
- All people or a specific group
- Privacy settings — hide living people's details if desired
- GEDCOM version — 5.5.1 is recommended
- Click Export and choose where to save the .ged file.
